A gigantic greenhouse is now a ruined heap - a victim of the weekend's heavy snowfall. The greenhouse, spread over half an acre at Sandybanks Garden Centre, Wilsden Road, Harden, Bingley, crumpled under the weight of snow. Mr David Wilkinson, the centre's managing director, said: "It looks like the wreck of a zeppelin. At the moment it is too dangerous to move."

John Charles, Leeds United centre forward, and his full back colleague Grenville Hair, though only just turned 22, each received maximum benefit cheques of £750 from the club yesterday. They have completed five years service at Elland Road along with Ray Iggleden, inside left, who was also given a £750 cheque.
