One of Bradford's oldest and best known, public houses,The Talbot, is for sale again after being closed since March 1974. It is being offered for sale by Dacre, Son and Hartley, where a spokesman said: "It could be used again as a hotel but it is very probable that we could get planning permission for offices or restaurant or a disco". The Talbot, in Kirkgate, was a Crest hotel, part of the Bass Charrington group. After it closed it was bought by a London businessman.

Bradford Public Works Committee, at its next meeting, will be asked to agree that, subject to the consent of the Minister of Housing and Local Government, a plot of land on the Thorpe Edge estate be leased to Bradford Congregational Associa-tion for use as a site for a temporary Congregational church for a period of 15 years.
