A Keighley school sent 30 chairs to a youth camp in Transylvania on Monday.
Parkwood Primary School donated the school chairs to the Vlahita youth camp, based in the Harghita Mountains of Transylvania, through the Christian charity Outreach.
The special gift was given after the school was looking for a way to dispose of a number of extra chairs. Instead of throwing them away, it was suggested they donate them to Outreach.
Head teacher, Julie Butler, presented Kathy Tedd, director of Jubilee Outreach Yorkshire, with the chairs in a special assembly in the morning, then packed them off to their Eastern European destination.
The chairs will benefit the hundreds of under-privileged children who visit the camp every year for their holidays.
