FIVE times English Fell Running Champion Ian Holmes will be pitting his wits, and stamina, against the top fell athletes in the country on Haworth Moor this weekend.
The 21st Soreen Stanbury Splash has attracted a top field with Holmes aiming to complete 10 straight victories in the run from Penistone Hill.
Having alredy won the Stoop and Auld Lang Syne races 10 times each he goes into the race as firm favourite.
Soreen will again be supplying all runners with a Malt Loaf, which has given the race its nickname 'The Malt Loaf Run'
Bingley Harriers could also provide the ladies winner with 23-year-old Sharon Taylor out to defend her title.
The main race starts at 11.30am and there will be junior races from Under-8s to Under-18 from 10.30am. All junior runners will receive a 'Goody Bag' and there will be free coffeee and biscuits.
