West Yorkshire roads could be brought to a standstill if road gritting crews carry out a threat to ban overtime and work to rule. Although the situation throughout the county was today confused, some men are already working normal hours only. Bradford's road chiefs were keeping their fingers crossed that the action will not spread. If it does the area's roads could become a nightmare.

As a result of Mr Wilfred Robertshaw's lecture to members of Bradford Anglo-Ukrainian Society, many Ukrainians will be much better informed about local history than the average Bradfordian is about the Ukraine, and possibly even about his own city. This was the first of a series of monthly lectures and the next will deal with Ukrainian history, and it will be the turn of English members to ask questions.
