Area social services officers in Bradford did not know about emergency stores of beds and blankets in the city which could have been issued to people flooded out in the recent spate of burst pipes, it was claimed today. Council tenants whose furniture was ruined had to scramble around borrowing beds when there were stocks of camp beds and blankets tucked away for just such an emergency.
