Queensbury gained sweet revenge for the defeat at Birkenshaw the previous week with a convincing 17-4 home win in the return match against their Premier Division rivals.

Bury had the game in the bag early doors after tries from full back Steve Eyles and prop Darren Wilkinson.

Scrum half Tom Middleton added a conversion to see his side into the interval 10-0 up.

Birkenshaw stand off Andy Hirst opened up their account on the restart but any hopes of a revival were short lived when forward Simon Parkinson crashed over for the hosts.

Middleton made no mistake with the extras and then added a drop goal to make sure of the spoils.

Victoria Rangers were punished for a poor tackling display in the 18-12 defeat at bottom-of-the-table side Park Amateurs.

The Halifax side exploited some woeful defence to score two quick tries but a penalty from hooker Phil Greenwood and a try from wingman Carl Williams narrowed the gap to 8-6 at half-time.

Park soon crossed out wide in the second half but centre Ikram Butt used his bulk to force his way to the whitewash and Peter Snell converted to level matters 12-12.

Rangers' old habits continued and Park took the lead with a converted try, but the Vics were exasperated when loose forward Kenny Atkins had a late effort ruled out for a double movement.

Clayton won 48-0 at Crigglestone All Blacks to regain second spot in Division One.

The Wakefield side could only muster 11 men and the Villagers virtually used the match as a training exercise.

Clayton's nine tries came from Jason Brooksbank (3), Chris Swales (2), Scott Pendlebury, Dan Murgatroyd and Chris Hillam. Mark Schofield also crossed and added two goals. Matt Gowland kicked four conversions.

West Bowling A won the basement dog fight 20-0 at Odsal Sedbergh. Steve Gregory, Brad Conway and Dean Minchella scored the vital touchdowns and Paul Ali slotted over four kicks to give them a glimmer of hope of reaching the safety zone.

Queensbury A were no match for Division Two high-flyers Victoria Vikings in a one-sided first half that saw them trail 40-0.

They showed their resolve in the second period with a try from prop forward Chris Cannon, converted by hooker Brett Marriott. With three-quarters Elliot Holdsworth and Andy Barraclough outstanding, they eventually restricted the home side to a 52-6 final margin.

Silsden Park Rangers beat Liversedge 26-20 thanks to tries from man-of-the-match Andy Bowness (2), Danny Horne and Jack Reeves.

Horne was sent off during the first half for a late challenge.

Bank Top Harriers produced the shock of the day with a 28-14 win at Division Five promotion favourites Thornton.

The game was fast and furious with Carl Nelson (2), Jason Gelderd (2) and Mark Brown crossing for the Harriers. Bob Brown scored three conversions and two drop goals. Thornton replied through Rob Cockroft and a brace from their man-of- the-match Kelvin Daulet. Darren Ellerton kicked the only goal.

Undercliffe made hard work of their trip to Wetherby before finally emerging 26-12 winners.

A long-range effort from Gavin Jarvis plus a try in the corner from Liam Jordan got things moving which together with a Damien Patchett conversion saw them into the interval 12-10 down. They then took control with further touchdowns from Alex Scargill and Jonathan Hotham. Patchett crowned a good afternoon's work when he raced the length of the field and added a further three goals to the total.

West Bowling B gave leaders York Acorn the fright of their lives before they lost a close encounter 6-2. Ross Irving kicked the Bowling penalty.
