CLIMBER Tom Bolger retained his British Youth title following a successful winter season.
Tom, a pupil at Oakbank School, trains on the school's climbing wall, at a specialist centre in Leeds and even has his own 'wall' set up in the cellar of the family home in Oxenhope.
His is the first teenager to retain the indoor climbing title after beating older climbers last year.
The sport also took him on a whistle-stop tour of Europe last summer, but this year competition events are taking a back seat to studying for his GCSE examinations. But he is planning to take part in the World Championships, which are being held in Edinburgh later in the year.
