Nicky Summerbee is not everyone's cup of tea.
The City midfielder has endured a love-hate relationship with sections
of the crowd since his arrival at the start of the season.
Some ill feeling dates back to Summerbee rejecting the club earlier in
his career. Then there was also a spat with away fans at Crewe in
October for which he apologised.
Summerbee, whose laid-back manner can be mistaken for not giving
everything to the cause, is adapting well to a more central role and
produced arguably his best City performance last week. But he accepts
there will still be some supporters who will never be pleased.
"I've had that everywhere," he said. "People read a lot of different
things into the way I am. I had it at Sunderland when I first went there
and Man City in the end."
