HAVING savoured the sheer delight of watching the side qualify for their place in the final of the Powergen Junior Vase at Twickenham on April 17, North Ribblesdale now confront another big challenge in trying to ensure that the biggest day in the club's history is not a massive financial headache, (writes Tony Simpson).

North Ribblesdale and their opponents in the final, Leodiensians, will receive £1,000 to subsidise their trip to Twickenham, that funding being intended for use in travel arrangements and accommodation. Interestingly, the club received £1,650 for their semi-final expenses at Nailsea.

No matter how the club decides to cut its cloth in putting together a viable package for players and their families, there is bound to be a shortfall, which makes it even more important that they maximise the only other source of revenue available to them - discount on ticket sales.
