DEVONSHIRE Carpets Craven League members will have their structure for 2004/5 on the agenda when they hold their annual meeting at Skipton RFC on Tuesday, with arrivals and departures influencing how the league should be set-up.

Watching with keener interest than some will be Skipton Bulldogs, who finished their campaign in third place in Division One after a hectic finale to the season in which they were playing three and even four games in a week to make up lost ground.

"We probably didn't get the recognition we deserved for the season because of the way the fixtures unfolded," says manager Rob Wooler. "We came from fourth from bottom to third in the last few weeks, which was a tremendous effort.

"Obviously we want to get back into the Premier Division and if the changes in the top section give us an entry through the back door, we'll happily take it.

"People insist that the league table always gives an accurate picture of how good a side is, but in this instance, I think that may not be true."

Bulldogs' chance of getting up as the third club in their section stems from expected changes in the Premier group.

Cross Hills are understood to be applying to the West Lancashire League, where they will join their senior side, while Keighley Lifts have been accepted into the West Riding County Amateur League and will be moving on.
