Yeadon batted with a little more conviction on Saturday at Morley and were rewarded with four points from a drawn game.

They almost made it a win with Morley's last pair hanging on at the death to secure a point.

Opener Jonny Henry went without scoring and James Todd soon followed for ten but Jon Carey found some form at last.

After missing last week he returned to the side and hit 48 holding things together as Yeadon methodically piled up the runs. He shared a profitable fourth wicket stand of 40 with Alexis McInnes

Naeem Khan was disappointed with his dismissal for ten but Alexis McInnes (17) and Tony Gilks (18) put in a solid effort before Mahmood Adil gave the tail end some fibre which was badly missing the previous week.

He finished unbeaten on 34 and Yeadon had set a target of 171-8.

They made a good start in protecting this lead with John Roper and Chris Henry bagging a wicket each as Morley were reduced to 27-2.

C Nuthall proved something of a stumbling block with a good knock of 66 but Roper kept pegging away and finished with 4-69 off 25 overs.

Chris Henry also bagged four wickets at a cost of 52 runs but Yeadon were unable to prise out Morley's last wicket and had to be content with their four points.

Hopefully this will give the side a timely boost for their home game against Salts on Saturday.

Yeadon Seconds notched a good win over Woodlands triumphing by just nine runs.

Yeadon made 176 with the major contributions coming from Andrew Pickering (37) and Mohammed Ali (35).There was some good running from Sam Gardner and Ryan Duckett as the score was built up.

In a thrilling game Woodlands were dismissed for 167 with Nick Darfield and Richard Wood each bagging five wickets, Darfield for 66 runs and Woods for 77 runs.

Chris Thompson scored his maiden league century on Saturday when playing for Idle against Bankfoot.

The former Guiseley CC all-rounder cracked a fine 105 which included 72 from boundaries with 12 fours and 4 sixes. His knock came off 96 balls with his first 50 coming off 67 balls.

His proud father Steve was batting at the other end when Chris reached the 100 mark.

Wicketkeeper Steve, a former Guiseley captain, teamed up with 19-year-old Chris at Idle this season.

It was Chris's first senior league ton although he has scored 100s in junior cricket. His first was against Lancashire for Yorkshire Under-15s when he was 14.
