A 16-year-old boy has been handed a five-year anti-social behaviour order following a string of offences on his estate.

Ashley Greig (pictured), of 17 Williams Road, Steeton, was issued with the order at Bingley Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

It follows a previous interim order which was made out for two months in April.

The court reaffirmed that the order -- which was applied for by Aire-Wharfe Community Housing Trust -- was necessary to protect the residents in Steeton.

Umar Qayoum, representing the housing trust, said: "I would request that we make an order with the terms that have been set out.

"The order reflects the offences that have been made by the defendant."

Mr Qayoum said Greig had committed a number of offences including aggravated vehicle taking, burglary, criminal damage, failing to adhere to curfew and arguing with residents.

Nigel Jameson, who represented Greig, said: "I cannot realistically object to this order so it can be agreed."

Greig is not allowed to enter an area around his house except on a specified route from Skipton Road, Chapel Road, Williams Road to his home. He is also prevented from:

l Carrying anything that could be used as a weapon to threaten or injure someone in the Bradford district.

l Trespassing; causing, threatening or attempting to cause damage to any person's house or property; entering or attempting to enter any vehicle or house without the owner's permission.

l Being a passenger in a vehicle without the owner's consent.

l Forcing entry into or causing damage to any vehicle.

l Driving or riding a vehicle without a license or insurance.

l Taking or having in his possession in a public place alcohol, drugs or any substance which is likely to intoxicate him except to treat any ailment.

l Hiding or attempting to hide his face.

l Dishonestly arranging to obtain goods or property knowing them to be stolen.

l Being in the company of Steven Daynes.

l Breaching any bail conditions imposed on him by any courts.

He also cannot instruct, permit, encourage or incite any person to act in an anti-social manner in Bradford, use anti-social, insulting, offensive, threatening or intimidating language or behaviour in a public place, cause damage to property not belonging to himself and approach, threaten, intimidate or communicate with Gary Naylor, Eileen Brunton and John Berry.

Under the terms of the order, Greig could be imprisoned for up to five years, fined, or both, if he breaches any of the conditions.
