TWO young footballers by the name of Danny Forrest are set to go head to head when Guiseley AFC open their pre-season friendlies with a game against Bradford City on Friday, July 16.

In the game, which kicks-off at 7.30 pm Burley-in-Wharfedale raised Bradford City star Danny Forrest is expected to come up against Guiseley's own player by the same name.

Guiseley's Danny Forrest is a 16 year-old pupil at St Mary's School, Menston, who made headway in the Reserve team at Guiseley last season in their Lancashire League games.

A former junior with Huddersfield Town Danny has impressed in pre-season training with Guiseley's first team squad and is set to play a part in the Bradford City game.

Both young players are also keen cricketers City's Danny having played for Burley-in-Wharfedale CC in the past and Guiseley's Danny being a regular with Hall Park's first team this season.

Guiseley are looking forward to hosting Bradford City as well as having other pre-season games at home to Bradford Park Avenue on Monday, July 19; at Ossett Albion on Monday, July 26; at home to York City on Wednesday, July 28; at Goole Town on Friday, July 31; at home to Huddersfield Town on Tuesday, August 3; at Silsden on Tuesday, August 10; at Glasshoughton on Thursday, August 12; and at Tadcaster Albion on Saturday, August 14.

Saturday, August 14, is also the date Guiseley Reserves start their Lancashire League campaign with the first team's UniBond League campaign starting a week later with a home game against Witton Albion. This will be followed by a trip to Gateshead on Wednesday, August 25. and another away game at Bishop Auckland on Saturday, August 28.

In the FA Cup Guiseley have been drawn at home to either Bacup or Chorley on September 18.
