This bride and groom-to-be are hoping it'll be third time lucky after they found true love in the columns of the Telegraph & Argus.

After just two days of meeting each other through an advert in our Two's Company page, Terry Robinson and Joan Woodward - who have ten children between them - were convinced they had found their perfect match.

Terry, who is 60 and lives in Buttershaw, popped the question to Joan, 57, of Fagley, on their third date.

The happy couple, who have both been married twice before, will make their vows on Saturday in front of family and friends at Bradford Register Office - just three months after Terry placed his ad looking for love.

In the ad he described himself as active, honest, sincere and on his voicemail he warned off any woman who had a habit of telling lies or poor personal hygiene.

"I'm so honest I just say what I think straight out - it obviously didn't put Joan off," he said.

"I'd tried all sorts previously to find a bride. I'd been to single nights but most of the women I met there were gold-diggers and so the ad in Two's Company was my last resort. If I hadn't found Joan I'd decided to give it up and stay a bachelor for the rest of my days."

Joan said: "It was my youngest daughter Rachael who pointed out Terry's ad and said 'He's the one for you.' I thought I was going to be facing a lonely old age but now I've met Terry he has changed my life completely."

Friends are amazed at everything Terry and Joan, who is an occupational therapist, have in common.

"We think alike, have the same mannerisms, same interests. The biggest difference we have is our height: I'm 5ft nine and she's just 5ft," said Terry.

Joan's reply to his ad caught his eye because she had forgotten to leave her name and had put one too many digits in her mobile number.

He said: "Something made me work through it and try all the number combinations until I found her - it was obviously meant to be.

"We met and hit it off straight away and within two days we'd decided we'd found our soulmates and were going to get married."

After Saturday's wedding the couple will have a party at The Junction pub in Thornbury, where they had their first date. "Love at first sight is alive and kicking in Bradford," said Terry. A honeymoon is planned for later in the year.

Telegraph & Argus commercial manager Ray Tate said: "This will be the third marriage we've had from our Two's Company page and we're delighted that people can find happiness with a little help from us."
