THE Junior Section of Guiseley AFC is launching a new Under-15 team for the coming season.

The team will play in the Craven League and will boost the club's age range. The club is holding a training session for any interested players next Tuesday, July 27. Players who will be eligible for an Under-15 team are invited to attend meeting at the Guiseley AFC clubhouse at 7 pm.

The club has lined up a pre-season friendly for the team against a club from Co Kerry in Ireland. This will take place on Guiseley AFC's main pitch at Nethermoor Park on Sunday, August 15.

Guiseley will also take on the Irish lads at under-12 level.

Guiseley AFC's senior players have been in training for some weeks now and start their pre-season friendlies on Monday with a trip to Ossett Albion.

This will be followed by a home game against York City at Nethermoor Park on Wednesday, July 28, with a 7.30 pm kick-off.

The UniBond League season commences on Saturday, August 21, with a home game against Witton Albion.

The Reserves begin their Lancashire League campaign on Saturday, August 14, with a home game against Accrington Stanley.

The Reserves have a new manager in Huddersfield Town scout Brian Tate. He will be assisted in coaching by Dave Haley, who manages and coaches the Huddersfield Town Under-14 Academy team.

Brian said: "Dave and I are happy to continue the Huddersfield Town connection with Guiseley AFC (first team manager Neil Parsley being a former Huddersfield player).

"We aim to develop the reserve team squad, both the older players and the young talent coming through, to play a good standard of football so that Neil has some good footballing talent at his disposal for the first team.

"I hope people will come down and watch the reserves, I am sure they will be pleased with what they see."
