Burley have re-established themselves as the front runners for promotion from Division B of the Airedale and Wharfedale League following their drawn game with Thackley on Saturday.

In a 30 over a side thrash Burley made 192-4 with some excellent batting from opener Ben Harris with 58, Ian Normington with 67 not out and Ian Frost with 40.

Harris and Frost shared a second wicket stand of 93 after opener Richard Brook had been dismissed for just two with the score on seven.

Thackley made a brave effort to wipe off the runs but had to settle just one run short at 191-9 after Nick Brook had returned 5-45.

Fine knocks by Carl Busfield (41) and Andrew Luxton (48) almost took Thackley to victory.

Burley's four points saw them move eight ahead of Tong Park who could only muster one point after their game against Collingham was abandoned.

Silsden moved up to third place, 11 behind Tong Park, after Lee Bilborough helped gain a five wicket win over relegation threatened Ilkley.

Ilkley were dismissed for 90 as D Senior bagged 3-23 and C Walker 3-12. Richard Simpson top scored for the Denton Road side with 33.

Silsden knocked off the runs for the loss of five wickets with Bilborough hitting 30 defying Anthony Giles, who has returned to Ilkley from Thornton-in-Craven. He took 4-25.

Calverley were unable to take advantage of Ilkley's misfortune and they remain second bottom after being defeated by Knaresborough.

Steve Moore (64) and Daniel Hopkinson (72) gave Calverley a great start sharing an opening stand of 137 but then Tom Metcalf bagged 5-44, well backed up by D Skaith with 3-29 and Calverley were restricted to 189-8.

Stuart Carey (71) and Jonathan Corcoran (45) then led Knares-borough to a two wickets win with an opening stand of 70.

This eased Knaresborough's own relegation fears as Skipton, whose game against Illingworth was cancelled, remain bottom on 18 points, six behind Calverley and Ilkley.

Steeton took full points from their visitors Pool who made 124-7 in a game reduced to 20 overs a side.

Pool made a good start through Phil Dibb (32) and Richard Carlton (66) who shared a good opening stand but then A Gledhill broke through with a 4-22 return to halt Pool in their tracks.

Steeton then knocked off the runs winning off the last ball of the game thanks to 59 not out from J Best.
