Tashina Earle from the Ilkley's Premiere Karate Club based at the Ben Rhydding Methodist Church was victorious in the British Youth Open Karate Championships 2004 held at Ponds Forge.
The competition was staged over two days and brings together some of the finest karate competitors in the UK.
The 11 year-old who currently competes for the SKU children's England Team took third place honors in the girls open grade under 45 KG category.
Tashina stormed through the elimination rounds beating the other competitors by the maximum points available.
Tashina is now looking ahead and hoping to do well at the English Karate Governing Body Children's Championships.
Other Ilkley students competing on the day were Andrew Johnston (13), Laurie Picken (13) and Sam Stinton (13) who also put in good performances
Club Instructor Mark Outterside said: "Tthese results just go to show how strong the Ilkley club really is, with the recent record breaking grading results and a new black belt it has been an incredible month".
