Steeton and Silsden were the only teams in Division B of the Airedale & Wharfedale League to obtain maximum points from a rain-hit programme last weekend, while Skipton did not bowl a ball against Illingworth and Upper Wharfedale had a free day in the fixture list.

Steeton's three-wicket win over Pool at Summerhill Lane came off the last ball of the 20-overs-a-side match. Batting first, Pool scored 124-7 as Alex Gledhill recorded his best ever return of 4-22 in four eventful overs.

In reply, Steeton reached their target thanks largely to the efforts of Jon Best (59no), but the winning run in a very tight finish came from Neil Wilson off the last ball of the match.

Silsden had a match-winning display from Australian Daniel Senior, who seized the initiative for his side with a destructive opening salvo.

He finished with 3-23 from nine overs as only opener Simpson (33) managed any serious defiance, Chris Walker (3-12) administering the coup de grace ad Ilkley were dismissed for 90.

The early loss of Tim Sugden and Andy Waggett gave Ilkley encouragement, and some fine bowling from Thornton-in-Craven's Anthony Giles, who took 4-25 from 17 overs, ensured that Silsden had to work for their six points.

But Lee Bilbrough (30) steadied the ship and Ian Sagar (16) and Senior (15no) steered the side home and into third place in the table.

On Sunday, Steeton Seconds continued their unbeaten season and progressed to the Birtwhistle Cup final when they defeated Beckwithshaw by three wickets.
