VARIABLE weather conditions continue to impact on the J P Mewies Craven Cricket League, with washed out matches tightening the competition at the top of the Division One table.
Leaders Embsay were again denied a start against Haworth at Shires Lane and third-placed Oakworth suffered a similar fate at home to Haworth West End, but second-placed Barrowford took the opportunity to close up to just two points behind the pacemakers.
They entertained Long Lee and after mopping up operations were done, they dismissed them for 95, Richard Wilkinson making 27 as John Hargreaves claimed a superb 7-19.
After early setbacks, Kevin McGahon (39) and Ajmal Choudry (43no) took the red rose side to the points by six wickets.
Cowling moved into fourth spot after an eight-run victory at Bradley.
There are new leaders at the top of Division Two, with Bingley Congs opening up a two-point gap on Glusburn after travelling to Chatburn and winning while their rivals were inactive.
