NORTH Ribblesdale have been given the chance to make amends for last season's bitter disappointment in the Powergen Junior Vase final at Twickenham by being seeded into the same competition again next season.

A further boost for the Settle club is that they have been drawn at home in Round One and will entertain Whitby on September 18.

Skipton have also enjoyed the thrill of making good progress in this competition in recent times and have also been favoured with a home tie in Round One.

They will have Bradford Salem as visitors for what is sure to be a tough test.

Both sides will open their campaign on September 18, but the other local team in the competition, Wharfedale Rams will start a fortnight early with a Preliminary Round trip to Bishop Auckland on September 4.

The prize for the winners of that match will be a home tie in Round Two against Sunderland.

On the domestic front, Wharfedale start their bid to get their names on the Yorkshire Cup for the first time when they entertain Bradford and Bingley on April 13.

In the Yorkshire Shield, North Ribblesdale visit Bradford Salem, Skipton entertain Hemsworth and Keighley visit Pocklington in ties to be played on or before November 6.

The same deadline is in place for Wharfedale Rams, who visit Leeds Corinthians in the Silver trophy.
