The battle for the Division One title is getting tighter.

The top two met at Gomersal, and Undercliffe's winning draw means they have narr-owed the gap to three points.

Reliable opener Warren Allitt (68) and skipper Andy Wilsdon (69 not out) were the main contributors to Undercliffe's 224 for five, and Gomersal had to hold on for a point at 150 for nine, despite Daniel Regan (57) and Michael Baldwin (40) adding 84 for the third wicket.

Wilsdon completed a fine all-round match by taking four for 48, and new-ball partner Jed Dinn took three for 30.

Woodlands are a clear third after winning by seven wickets at Farsley, Keith Robson scoring 50 for the victors.

Aaron Brook (44), Robert Thornton (33) and Stephen Simpson (26) scored a remarkable proportion of Farsley's 125, Philip Walker (3-4) helping to trigger a collapse in which the last four wickets fell for no runs.

Shock result of the day came from Yeadon, the fourth-from-bottom visitors triumphing by 83 runs at fourth-placed Hanging Heaton.

Darren Smith (56) and Will Darby (50) added 81 for the fifth wicket in Yeadon's 197 for eight, Peter Byrne taking six for 85. Nick Darfield (4-17) then helped dismiss the Batley side for 114.

Priestley Shield finalists Pudsey St Lawrence and East Bierley both warmed-up with victories.

Opener James Milligan hit an unbeaten 123 for Saints in their 238 for six at bottom club Idle, who were dismissed for 139. Mark Stringer used nine bowl-ers for Saints, the best of whom was Lee Firth with four for 15.

Neil Johnson (67) almost carried his bat for Idle, being ninth out, but 12-year-old David Bolt went one better, scoring 45 not out in Mirfield's 116 at East Bierley.

He put on 47 for the first wicket with his dad Andy (23), but the visitors collapsed like a pack of cards from 106 for four once Chris Hester (6-4) came on as the seventh bowler.

Gareth Davis (46 not out) ensured there were no such alarms in Bierley's innings, guiding them to an eight-wicket victory.

Steve Gunner made 95 for Pudsey Congs in their winn-ing draw against Lightcliffe.
