An unbeaten 77 by Richard Brook left Burley possibly just one win away from returning to Division A after a two-year exile.

The Burley batsman notched his third half-century of 2004 to help his side pass Calverley's 147 for nine for the loss of just three wickets. Victory for Burley at Ilkley next weekend, coupled with defeat for third-placed Collingham at Knaresboro-ugh, will now be enough to seal promotion for Richard Harrison's side.

Chander Sheikar was again in fine form as Tong Park underlined their determination to clinch promotion to the top flight. The Indian's 101 not out at Pool was his second century of the season and helped clinch a 100-run victory, the home side being bowled out for 148 with Mick Scott taking four for 56.

Burley lead the table with 82 points, eight ahead of Tong Park with Collingham a further 11 behind in third place.

The battle to avoid relegation from Division B took another twist with Ilkley pulling to within a point of third--from-bottom Calverley after chalking up their first win since May.

Chasing Illingworth's 158 all out, Ilkley were soon reduced to 20 for two before Mark Luffman came in to hit an unbeaten 68 and help clinch a six-wicket triumph.

Calverley's defeat at Burley means they have 32 points, one ahead of Ilkley with Skipton a further nine behind in bottom place. Rob Walker hit 65 and Ian Bell 58 to help Skipton to 207 all out but their efforts were in vain as Collingham triumphed by ten wickets.

Chris Spivey and Andrew Luxton claimed four wickets apiece as Steeton were restricted to 224 for nine, Thackley managing 187 for nine in reply.

Daniel Senior's 70 not out was the clear highlight for Silsden as they mustered 203 for six in reply to Knaresborough's imposing 315 for two.

Otley were frustrated by Hall Park's final pair in their bid to collect a much-needed win but they still managed to stretch their advantage over relegation rivals Menston to five points.

Sam Smith top-scored with 85, while David Taylor (56) and Sean Atkinson (55) offered useful support as Otley reached 260 for four. Andrew Burke then took four for 39 but Otley had to settle for a four-point winning draw as rock-bottom Hall Park finished on 198 for nine.

Menston, meanwhile, collected two points after hitting 210 for eight in reply to Adel's 227 for six. Robert Taylor claimed five for 74 for Menston, while Richard Taylor hit 54 and skipper Nick Thornton 38.

Hall Park have 16 points and seem destined for the drop, while Menston have 28 and Otley 33.

Graham Dobson (36) and Matthew Hutton (38) put on 79 for the second wicket to help Rawdon to a six-wicket win at home to Guiseley and maintain the form that has yielded 32 points from a possible 36.

Bilton remain on course for the double after Saturday's victory over Kirkstall kept them nine points clear at the top. They then beat Follifoot by 41 runs in Sunday's Waddilove Cup final.

Bolton Villas' revival continued in Division C as they pulled to within a point of escaping from the foot of the table. Chris Hizzett top-scored with 36 in a nine-wicket win over Olicanian, Villas' third triumph in five games. And with nearest rivals Ben Rhydding losing by eight wickets at home to Horsforth, it means Villas are just a point behind the Ilkley side.
