Burley continue to push strongly for promotion with another home win against Calverley. The visitors were in a strong position at 60-1 at the first drinks break but the spin attack of Cameron Green and Ben Harris created errors and the Calverley batsmen withered to 147-9.

Richard Brook was quickly into his stride with an unbeaten 77 as Burley won by seven wickets.

He had good support from Ian Normington with 31 and M Harrison with 27. The match was won in the 25th over.

Burley are getting close to sealing their promotion spot currently holding a 19 point lead over third placed Collingham with just 30 points left to play for.

Knaresborough's opening batsmen Stuart Carey and Jonathan Corcoran shared a stand of 247 in their home game against Silsden. Carey hammered 13 fours in his unbeaten 120 while Corcoran had 1 six and 9 fours in his 138.

Knaresborough finished on 315-2 and Silsden replied with 203-6 after D Senior had made 70 not out and C Meehan 65.

Tong Park maintained their title challenge with a 109 runs win at Pool where Indian batting star Chander Sheikhar made a cultured 101 not out. He and Danny Groom (45) were the main contributors to a final score of 248-6.

Pool fell for 139 in reply as Mick Scott bagged 4-36 off 17.5 overs in the sweltering heat. Cander Sheikhar chipped in with 2-32 off 11 overs and G Wilkinson had 2-27.

Ilkley gained a morale boosting six wickets win at Illingworth with a patched up team which featured the veteran slow bowler Mike Clegg.

Illingworth fell for 158 as Clegg bagged 3-44 off 11 overs and Chris Quaife 3-28. After the loss of early wickets Mark Luffman steered Ilkley home with an unbeaten 68 with excellent support from Phil Sant with 36.

Thackley were behind the clock as they chased the Steeton score of 224-9 and had to settle for two points with 197-9.

Opener Jon Akrigg made 64 for Steeton and support came from Jonathan Smith with 40 and Lee Spragg with 49. Thackley struggled against the bowling of P Hardwick (4-45) and J Smith, 3-9 off ten superb overs.
