Guiseley AFC are preparing for the new season which kicks-off for the Reserve team on Saturday.

They have a home game in the Lancashire League against Accrington Stanley Reserves kicking-off at 3 pm. New Reserve Team manager Brian Tate expects to have a difficult task selecting a team from all the talent on view at pre-season training.

The squad has numbered around 30 and includes youngsters who have impressed enough to win places in the West Riding County FA squads and new recruit Hector Chilombo, a Zambian international midfielder who is expected to make his debut on Saturday,

Tate said: "With new signings coming in day by day it has been difficult to formulate a side. We have some very talented youngsters who were already at the club along with a number of new players. I am confident of having a good squad and we are looking to put on a good performance on Saturday."

This game will be quickly followed by another Lancashire League game at Nethermoor when Bradford Park Avenue visit on Tuesday (7.45 pm).

Guiseley's first team have friendlies at Glasshoughton tonight, Thursday, and at Tadcaster Albion on Saturday as their final preparation for the UniBond season which opens on August 21 with a home game against Witton Albion ( 3pm).

Guiseley's newly-formed Under-15 squad will have their first outing on Sunday when they entertain a side from Co Kerry in Ireland.

The Irish visitors will play at under-12 level at 2pm and at under-15 level at 3.15 pm.Any boys interested in joining the under-15 squad can ring 0113 2506205 for details.
