THE Taerigi-Do Black Belt Academy, based at The Warehouse in Little Lane, Ilkley, raised £430 for the NSPCC at a Martial Arts Spectacular Open Day.

Steve Harrison, the Academy's Master Instructor, a professional Martial Artist, took a back seat as his demonstration team, led by Chief Instructor Daniel Kernahan, entertained the audience with various high energy demonstrations. These included Charlie's Angels and The Matrix.

The Open Day ran as part of the Taerigi-Do 50/50 Appeal where half of all monies raised goes to the NSPCC and the other half goes to the student fund. The fund will run for the whole of the year with sponsored events being part of the 50/50 Appeal.

Taerigi-Do is the area's only full time Martial Arts Academy with over 20 classes a week. Classes include Little Ninjas, Taekwondo, Kickboxing and Valer Tudo. All classes run for 50 weeks of the year. Anyone interested can contact Steve on 01943 877797 or see the website www.taerigi-do.com.
