BRITAIN'S biggest blues festival is set to hit the streets of Colne again over the August Bank Holiday weekend -- with performers who laid the foundations of modern music.

The festival takes over the town with hundreds of musicians playing in pubs, clubs and cafes, as well as on the main stages at the Municipal Hall, from Friday August 27, to Monday August 30.

The international stage is set to play host to an impressive line-up of artistes, including Sista Monica Parker, Eddie "The Chief" Clearwater, Mighty Mo Rodgers and Sean Costello.

A full festival ticket is £90 if booked by August 13, with tickets for Saturday, Sunday and Monday at £30 each and Friday night costs £17.50. The festival ticket hotline is: 01282-661234

n Uniting the Elements, pictured left, perform tomorrow at Hebden Bridge Trades Club, followed next Saturday by seven-piece soul and blues band Soul Ascendant, with 60s and 70s covers and original material.
