THE wet weather has certainly come down with a vengeance this week with Cougar Park under water -- as was the gym -- on Tuesday according to a phone call received from Farmer.

"Night off then, Gary?" said one of the lads when when we arrived for training.

"Not quite, fellas," said I. We then proceeded to have our normal post-match meeting then shot up to Workouts Health Club where Paul Royston put them through their paces in a gruelling circuit of the aerobic studio.

An hour later and the floor was covered in as much water as Cougar Park, this time it was pure sweat.

"So much for a night off," I heard as the lads dragged themselves out of the studio. "Hope it stops raining by Thursday," said another!

THE boo boys were out on Sunday once again. It is beyond me how people can turn on players that last year represented this club with tremendous pride and determination.

Less than 12 months ago many of the current squad brought the first pieces of silverware to Cougar Park for ten years.

Yours truly as well as Messrs Spencer and Farrar are all coming into the firing line.

On the other hand, I have received many messages from people expressing their understanding and support.

These are tough times for everybody with the club at heart but I believe that with the infrastructure being put together, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

CONGRATULATIONS to our Under-18s Junior Academy side who had a tremendous 49-12 victory over Leigh Centurions at Cougar Park last Saturday.

The result tells you what a great team effort it was but I would like to give a mention to local boy and captain Shane Walton who scored a hat-trick of trys. Well done to everybody on the team.
