City are still in the hunt for Jamie Lawrence.

The former Bantams midfielder has been back at Valley Parade this week for further talks with Colin Todd.

Other clubs are also eyeing the Jamaican international but Todd remains hopeful that his long pursuit could get its reward.

He said: "I had a good chat with Jamie, although he's got one or two other options and was speaking to someone after us.

"But he is going to keep us in the picture. Obviously Jamie's got to take what's best for him but he will inform us of any deal he has got elsewhere and we will see if we can compete."

Todd is increasing his efforts to shake up the squad but new players can only be brought in on a one-in, one-out basis until the club are free of administration.

The league's restriction on numbers has stopped him from signing Darlington def-ender Matt Clarke already.

And with resources stretched by the double suspension of Lee Crooks and Dean Windass for Saturday's home game with Bristol City, it is unlikely any deal would be worked out this week.

Todd's interest in Clarke was revealed yesterday but he has been secretly tracking him since the summer.

Todd said: "If something could have been done by now then it would have been.

"I'm chasing a left back and I would utilise Matt in that position. He is a tall lad, comfortable on the ball and gets up and down the pitch. Dave Hodgson at Darlington knows we are very interested and the ball is now in his court."

Clarke was involved in a car accident over the weekend but escaped unhurt.

l City's new all-black away kit is available for fans to buy from this weekend.

The Surridge Sports replica outfits will be on sale at the club's Upfront superstore from 9am on Saturday. Advance orders can be placed on-line through the club web-site.
