Victoria Rangers 11, Keighley Albion 17 - Albion trailed 11-4 at half time after a poor first half where both sides made too many handling errors.

Chris Cullen scored Albion's only try in the first half with with a well worked move created by Condran. They came out in the secound half and proved to be the much fitter side as Smith, Hollins and Wrench started finding holes in the Rangers' line.

Cullan scored a try to pullback to 11-8 down buthe added his hat-trick touchdown and Bowness converted to give Albion the lead the first time.

They iheld on to the slim lead until Blackburn dropped a goal to seal the win.

Steve Cullan was man of the match.

This week Albion play their first home game against Westgate Redoubt on Saturday, kick off 2.30.

Silsden Park Rangers 46

Elland 'A' 32

Silsden got their season back on track with a win over Elland 'A'. Andy Bowness drew first blood aafter some good support play but Elland hit back to level the scores.

From the restart Elland fumbled the ball in front of their own line and Alan Preston scored from the scrum, giving Andy Bowness an easy conversion. Elland came back again and took the lead for the first time.

Silsden scrum half Andy Bowness dummied to Preston in support to score his second try and added the extras, but again Elland struck back with an easy interception try. Andy Bowness completee his hat-trick, his conversion edging Silsden in a 22-20 lead at the break.

Skilful play from Andy Bowness, Tony Fella and Phil Lane but Silsden in command. Neil Jordan restarted the scoring quickly followed by a well struck penalty from Andy Bowness.

Fella crossed the line extending Silsden's lead and Bowness kicked another two points. An outstanding 60-yard break from Billings set up Preston to cross in the corner.

Silsden continued to pressurise the Elland defence, Jordan almost getting over the line was held up but managed to pop the ball through his legs to Bowness in support. The conversion this took Andy Bowness's tally to four tries and five goals in the afternoon.

Elland got their second wind and came back with three late tries but Silsden made certain of victory.

Keighley Town A 30

Rotherham A 32

Injuries and work commitments restricted Town to jut 13 men and their lack of substitutues took its toll.

They dominated the first half and more than matched the big rotherham side. Harry Burns went close before Jason Benn wen over for a try.

Further tries from Kazim Ahmed, Ben andCraig Lawrence, on his debut, secured a 20-10 lead for Town at the break.

Unfortunately the Keighley side had picked up injuries and Rothrham took advantage and took the lead after 20 minutes.

Parker dived over twice to cancel out Rotherham tries, but time ran out as they fought for a win. Danny Barret kick four out of six and there was fine defensive play from King, Metcalfe and Partridge. Harry Burns was man of the match.
