Bulls chairman Chris Caisley has confirmed the club's admiration for Castleford skipper Ryan Hudson.
The relegated Tigers have vowed to maintain a full-time squad in a bid to make an immediate return to Super League but are unlikely to be able to retain talents such as Hudson.
The Tigers' last slim hope of Super League survival is if the National League One champions are denied promotion for failing to meet off-field criteria.
Castleford have pledged not to release any players before the RFL make a decision on the promotion candidates' prospects, which is expected to be announced ahead of the National League One Grand Final. The vultures are already circling, however, with up to six clubs chasing the Tigers' top stars.
Hudson heads that list and the Bulls aren't exactly playing down their interest in him.
"He is a good player, a better player than a lot of people give him credit for," said chairman Chris Caisley.
Hudson is believed to be a candidate to fill the hooking role at Odsal and can also provide cover at prop.
"He is versatile and he certainly fits the mould in terms of the type of player we like to bring to the club," added Caisley.
"He always strikes me as a lad that wants to win games and improve himself. I don't know a great deal about him but he appears to have a terrific attitude. But there are a lot of other players around who we are looking at at the moment."
Motu Tony, the Tigers' New Zealand international, began the exodus from The Jungle earlier in the week by agreeing a switch to Hull FC.
