SHOW promoters Caboodle have re-awakened a sleeping beauty.

After almost 30 years of slumber, ballet is set to return to the stage of the King's Hall, Ilkley with a vibrant, young and exciting company performing the full-length ballet 'The Sleeping Beauty'.

Caboodle promoter Trevor Wilson said: "It is an exciting venture seeing ballet back in Ilkley.

"There has already been a fantastic response and tickets are selling quickly. In bringing ballet to Ilkley it was important to satisfy two criteria.

"First of all the company had to be of the highest standard and secondly it was important to make pricing affordable.

"It's a privilege to bring the Independent Ballet Wales to Ilkley and I am sure they will receive a warm Yorkshire welcome!"

Darius James' The Sleeping Beauty combines the finest storytelling and characterisation with one of the most famous stories of all time.

With original choreography combined with the much-loved 'Rose Adage' and Grand pas de deux' the production is a fascinating fusion of old and new.

Both an ideal introduction to classical ballet for young people but also an invigorating alternative to those tired old classics, the production breathes new life into touring ballet.

Vibrant new sets and stunning new costumes by Welsh designer Yvonne Greenleaf develop this exceptional and ground-breaking production.

Above all, Tchaikovsky's enduring music soars with its timeless magnificence.

l Meanwhile, tickets are still available for one of Caboodle's other events.
