THE recent Grading held at the Taerigi-Do Black Belt Academy in Ilkley was a huge success. On the day 17 hopeful students undertook their belt exams, achieving some fantastic scores. Five Little Ninjas graded on the day. Bob Petty, Joe Tales, John Wright and Jamie Cockshott all achieved their half-yellow belts.

In the Junior Taekwondo, Matthew Archer achieved his blue belt with a fantastic score of 94 per cent. Ruth Whitehead earned her red belt with a score of 90 per cent and Hannah Tales passed her yellow belt test with a score of 83 per cent.

The Senior Taekwondo saw Euan Donald earn an orange belt with 92 per cent, and Uta Jewell pass her half-purple belt also with 92 per cent. Suz Donald achieved her half-black belt with her 11th straight distinction, scoring 94 per cent and is now only three months away from her black belt grading.

In the Senior Kickboxing, Beth Petty achieved her yellow belt, Debbie Holmes her blue belt and George Childress his half-red belt. Mark Knapton and Pete Bly both passed their half-black belt grading with distinction scores and are now preparing for an intensive black belt grading in October.

Taerigi-Do's instructors, Master Steve Harrison and Dan Kernahan, were very impressed with the way everyone performed on the day.
