Man of the Match, Luke Rooney, inspired the Shamrocks Under-7s' defence assisted by Conner Holgate, Kieren Henry, Owen Williamson and Oliver Leeming. Stand in keeper Christopher Johnson made a string of fine saves. They went down to a 3-0 defeat by Poole, but produced a tremendous effort for the first time they had played together.

Shamrock Under-9s beat Undercliffe Celtic 3-1 with an inspired second half which brought goals from Josh Rooney (2) and Luke Watson-Dowler. Liam Humphreys was Man of the Match.

Keighley Shamrock Under-10s were beaten 6-1 by Long Lee who opened the scoring form the penalty spot. They went on to score five further goals despite some first rate saves by Jack Emmett. In the dying seconds new signing Michael McGinn secured a consolation goal.

Shamrocks Under-11s played superb football in a great match against Oakworth. Oakworth were the first to put their name on the scoreboard, but the Shammies bounced back to win 7-4. Goals came from Ross Kelly (4), Shane Parker, Michael Ruddock and Ryan Stubbs. Keeper Liam Foster was on form and Adam Shepherd was Man of the Match.

Shamrocks U12s A travelled to Burley and secured a 2-1 half time lead with goals from Sam Chipman and Ben Helliwell. The second half was also close and further goals from Sam Chipman (2) and Luke Thornton secured a 5-5 draw. Ben Helliwell was man of the match.

The Under-12s had earlier got off to a winning start with an 8-3 win over Queensbury. Jack Bilney scored a first half goal and in the second period Liam Fothergill scored five, Bilney completed his hat-trick. Joe Southern was man of the match and Matthew Robinson had a solid game as sweeper.

Silsden Under-10s B opened their season with a goalless draw away to Wyke. Luke Wilson went close in the first half with a great shot but was denied by the crossbar.Man of the Match Kyle Todd nearly won it with a fine shot but also hit the crossbar.The whole team played well in their first game.

Silsden Under-9s travelled to Wyke and contested a closely fought game before eventually coming out 3-1 winners. Joshua Brown's opening goal was later added to by two goals from forward David Hunt. Goalkeeper Ben Ramsden was man of the match.

Silsden Under-8s A opened the new season with a 3-1 win over Long Lee. Man of the match Euan Sessford gave them the lead and he added a second after the break. Oliver McCann added the third.

Silsden Under-8s B secured a 3-0 win over Long Lee with Josh Jordan opening the scoring and Man of the Match Tom Leach powered home from outside the area. Captain Ben Sheppard scored the final goal for a well deserved win.

Silsden Under-7s showed plenty of promise as they beat Eldwick 3-2. Man of the match Andrew Briggs scored twice, as captain Sam Maude drove his team forward well from midfield and managed to get on the score sheet in the second half. Silsden goalkeeper, Dan Hunt showed his agility with a number of good saves.

Oakworth Under-8s A played were soon under a lot of pressure against a strong Burley side. Only good saves from Daniel Roche kept the score 0-0 at half time. In the second half Oakworth started to play a lot better and Sam Nettleton put Oaks ahead with a superb shot. However Burley soon equalised. With the game looking to be heading for a draw a Peter Kus goal and two further strikes from Nick Sharples, in his first game, gave Oaks a f4-1 win. Ben Wedge and Oli Huck had good games.

Oakworth Under-8s B played some excellent football in the first half against Burley B but were unable to convert any of their chances. In the second half a great shot from Lee Harness broke the deadlock and Jake Smith added a second. However only a couple of fine saves from Thomas Jackson kept the score at 2-0. Lauren Adams and Sol Wright had outstanding games.

Sutton Under-10s B came down to earth with a bump in their first match of the season. They played away at Queensbury and were on the wrong end of a 7-0 scoreline. It was always a one sided affair although George Meehan was man of the match for making a string of good saves.

Cross Hills Under-12s go top of league with a gutsy 6-3 victory over Queensbury. Goals came from hat-trick hero Jack Harrison, James Macdonald, Ben Cuthbertson and an own goal from Queenbury. Man of match was Josh Page.

Long Lee Under-12s started life in Division A with a hard fought 4-3 victory over Heaton. Long Lee played some great football and led 3-0 at half time with goals from Kane O'Driscol, George Nixon and Aidan Kirby. In the second half Heaton came out fighting and pulled back to 3-3 before captain Benjamin Whiteoak scored a great winner for Long Lee, Shaun Quinlan was man of the match.

Sutton Under-11s A edged a 3-2 victory over Horton Park. They were 2-1 down at half time with a goal from Michael Cummins keeping their hopes alive. They came back strongly in the second half with goals from Kyle Edgar and Luke Fleetwood.

Sutton Under-11s B had a new line-up and and found the going tough against a strong Horsforth team. T hey were soon 3-0 down and despite playing some good football wen down to a 6-0 defeat. Joshua Roberts was man of the match.

Long Lee Under-9s started the season with a 7-2 victory over Myrtle Park. After an even first half, Long Lee dominated the second period. A hat-trick from man of the match Declan Burke, two goals from Liam Walsh, a volley from Josh Holt and an own goal, secured the win.

Silsden Juniors Under-9s B started the season with a terrific 3-0 win away to Wyke Warriors. Scorers were Cameron Latter (2) and Matthew Keighley with Jack Baker on form in goals and James Hitch full of running in midfield.

Long Lee Under-12s lost their first game 4-2 to Mavericks. They were unlucky to be 2-0 down at half time and Mavericks added to their lead early in the second half. Long Lee hit back with goals from Shaun Pratt and Kane O'Driscol to set up a tense finish. Callum Jones was man of the match for some fine goalkeeping.

Long Lee Under-13s A beat Undercliffe 7-0 in their first game with goals from Craig Donegan (2), Christopher Fazackerley (2), James Sutcliffe, Matthew Kershaw and Tim Sale. They slipped to a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Eccleshill with Josh Huntley an Christopher Fazackerley (2) scoring the goals.

Long Lee Under-13s B secured two wins after an 8-3 victory over Weston Lane in their opening game. Scorers were Robbie Robinson (5), Robert Mulderig (5). They followed up with an 8-2 victory over Eldwick with goals from Joe Bailey, Robinson (2), Gordon Ingham (2) and a hat-trick from Dan Graham.

Silsden Under-16s beat Shelf 6-0 with a big crowd watching the clash of last year's champions against the runners-up. Thomas Dibb opened the scoring against his former club with other goals from Andrew North (2), Lee McGowan (2) and Ross Croad.

Long Lee Under-10s got the season off to a bright start with a 5-1 victory over Sedburgh. Both sides scored in the first half, but Longg Lee took control after the break with goals from Jamie England, Ellis Atha and Carlton Beanland. George England and Mark Preston worked hard in midfield to keep Seburgh at bay. +
