Keighley Town 56 Calder Valley 13 - Town made it three win out of three despite starting slowly and handing over possession in the opening 10 minutes.

When Town began to play well they hit devastating form and Valley couldn't cope with their pace. Town had a try disallowed before getting on to the score sheet.

The pack of Rocky McNulty, Benn, Bradwell, Spencer and Tom Palmer began to punch holes in the Valley defence allowing the backs to show their class in attack.

Qinten Sneed tackled everything in sight while Lawson, Donnelly, Stokes and Shaw also worked hard in defence.

Sneed scored three ties and Daz McNulty also clocked up a hat-trick with further tries from DAnny Barrett, Tom Kenna, Steve Jones and John McCombe. Allan Muff scored six goals and Jason Barnes added two goals. Daz McNulty was man of the match.

Stainland Stags 14

Silsden Park Rangers 44

A depleted Silsden side reduced to only 12 players due to injuries, work commitments and holidays secured a glorious victory.

Coach Tony Fella gambled on putting all the front line troops in the middle of the park.

Silsden dominated the first twenty minutes and Chris Fell was unlucky to have two efforts overruled by the official. The pressure on Stainland finally told when Fell forged to within a metre of the line, and Jon Gwilliam went over from dummy half. A touchline conversion was the first of six goals for Andy Bowness.

Silsden's excellent ball retention again paid dividends, and on the last tackle, Tony Fella made an excellent break but was caught by the cover defence but managed to pop the ball to supporting John Williams who scored in the corner.

Stainland finally got on the scoreboard with a converted try and dominated for the last 10 minutes of the half.

Silsden suffered a further blow when Rick Greenwood was not allowed back onto the field by the Silsden physio and with 11 men they went further ahead against the run of play when Bowness scooted in from dummy half and converted his own try.

Stainland got back into the game and drew back to within six points.

A massive effort from every Silsden player ensured that even with 11 players, Stainland were never allowed time on the ball. The work rate of the Silsden defence, led by Neil Jordan was exemplary, and after 60 minutes, some excellent play down the middle of the park saw Bowness find a gap to pass on to the supporting Silsden man of the match Tony Fella who scored under the sticks.

Further tries followed for Andy Bowness and two more for Williams completing his hat-trick, all converted by Bowness finished off a memorable afternoon for the rangers.

The only dampener was that Silsden will be without Rick Greenwood for 6-8 weeks after he cracked a cheek bone, his sternum and broke a rib.

Silsden have a week off as there is no fixture this weekend.
