Dean Windass has warned League One leaders Luton: We're not scared of you.

A win in tomorrow's duel of the top two at Kenilworth Road would be City's sixth in a row in a perfect October.

And they would move within a point of pole position.

It is a tantalising prospect and Windass sees no reason why their red-hot run should not continue.

City's leading hitman said: "It's a massive game because of where the two teams are in the table. But I see it as another away game where we can go and take all three points.

"This season is not like going to places like West Ham, Wigan or Reading and being happy if you can come away with a draw. No disrespect to anyone in this league but we can go anywhere and win. With the confidence we are playing with and team we've got, we know we're good enough to beat Luton or anybody. We've got that real belief in our own ability.

"Whether we're playing home or away, we've got that winning mentality and we'll be looking to keep that going at Luton tomorrow. Winning becomes a habit, just like losing, and we don't want the run to end."

Windass bagged his ninth goal of the season - and best yet - in the win over Sheffield Wednesday but was just as delighted to see Michael Symes break his duck.

Todd will throw the pair together tomorrow if Dele Adebola is sidelined by a hamstring strain.

Windass added: "It's unbelievable how things turn round. Michael's been desperate for a goal and now he's got a couple and he's buzzing.

"I said to Symesy at half-time last week that the occasion was made for him.

"Steve McClaren always used to tell me about being ready for the unexpected because when the opportunity comes, you've got to take it.

"Michael did exactly that and good luck to him. But it just shows that everyone is playing their part to keep our run going.

"It's great playing up front in this team because you're getting chance after chance. I've probably had more chances so far than I got in the whole of last season.

"That's why I'm full of confidence in front of goal. I feel I'm going to score every time."

While City charge on, Luton have tailed off dramatically with three straight defeats. But Colin Todd will tell his players to watch out for the backlash.

Todd said: "Luton have done remarkably well so far. They've lost the last three but we won't read too much into that.

"It was going to happen at some point and they are still top. They are going to bounce back and we have to safeguard against that happening tomorrow.

"Everything is set up for an intriguing game because we are in good form. But I'm not going overboard about it being a clash between first and second. As far as I'm concerned, it's just another game we want to win."
