Steeton 2 Heckmondwicke T 8 - Steeton are struggling to make an impression on the Premier Division and face a tough battle to fight their way out of the relegation zone.

The had a day to forget on Saturday as they crashed 8-2 to Heckmondwike Town and were already 3-0 down at half time.

Joynal Ali and John Best got on the scoresheet in the second half, but Town hammered in five more goals to complete a nightmare day for the Summerhill Lane side.

Shamrocks looked set to claim their fifth league win of the season after an impressive first half against Dudley Hill. They went into the break with a 2-1 lead, but were undone by an own goal.

Shammies added a third goal in the second period and Dudley Hill scored two more, but were gifted a fourth which secured victory.

Joe Brady scored two and Graham Robinson also hit the net for Shamrocks.

Lifts had the edge as both teams hit the scoring button in a frenzied second half.

The teams were locked at 1-1 when the half time whistle blew and their was little indicationof the action that was to follow.

Crag Road scored two more, but Lifts bagge3d the poitns with four goals in the second period.

Lifts scorers were Mumzia Nazir (2), John Gunning, Andy Hawkins and Gavin Thompson.

Steeton were left to rue some strange refereeing decisions as they went down 3-2 at Dudley Hill.

Despite going a goal down early in the game Streeton were on top for most of the first half and Anthony Foulger headed them level.

When player-coach Roy Mason rifled in a second it looked as if Steeton would romp home. However, in the second half they allowed Dudley Hill into the game and the home side drew level.

It took a controversial penalty to settle the game as keeper Kevin Knappy was judged to have fouled the Hill Striker.

n In other games Keighley Shamrocks Reserves beat Littleton 2-1 with goals from Michael Parr and Stuart Wilson. Keighley Lifts Reserves beat Salt Old Boys 6-1 with John Ellison scoring four, Brian Thompson adding one and an own goal.
