Ilkley 18
Selby 18
For the fourth time this season, Ilkley let what should have been a resounding victory slip from their grasp.
Ahead 18-3 in this Yorkshire Division One encounter with 20 minutes remaining, all they had to do was play percentage rugby.
Unfortunately for the huge crowd at Stacks Field the old gremlins came back to haunt them as 15 points were leaked and Selby returned with a point they couldn't have dreamt of at three-quarter time.
League visits to Bridlington and Old Crossleyans and a home cup tie against York have all seen the Dalesmen build a respectable lead well into the game only to see it overhauled in the final quarter.
Ilkley have the skill and ability, but do they have that mental toughness to dig deep for 80 minutes?
That is the challenge facing skipper Michael Leeson and coach Richard Midgley.
Ilkley's points came from a try, two penalties and a conversion by Simon Smith and a try from winger Stuart Vincent with Oliver Mantle doing the spadework for Smith's try.
