Cubs Under-14s 26, Townville 10 - A lively start saw the visitors take a six point lead, but the Cubs were rewarded when Haythornthwaite touched down after a good passing move. Sustained pressure paid off when Anderton dived over from acting half and Cartledge added the conversion to gain a well earned 10-6 half time lead.

In the second period winger Coulthread scored two tries with Cartledge adding a conversion and penalty. With one minute to go the Townville loose forward forced his way over. From the kick off Cubs forward Burton raced the length of the field to score the try of the game.

West Bowling 4

Cubs 24

Cubs dominated the first half with Martyn Broadley opening the scoring near the corner, and Ben Stead converted.

Stead's kicking game turned the West Bowling defence the whole game and man of the match Wasim Shabir marked his return with an excellent display of tackling and driving runs. Josh Lynam and Jamie Pickles picked up a try each, before Ben Stead rounded off the first half diving over the line from acting half.

Bowling scored the only try in a very tight second half.

Halifax Vandals

Cubs Under11s

A below par performance from the Under-11s saw the Vandals walk away with the win. One of the few highlights of the Cubs performance came from Shabir Hussain who took the coach's award.

Even the tackling from Top Tackler Dave Allen or the effort from the Most Improved player, Anthony Garnett, was not enough to stem the flowing Vandals. Man of the match Harry Page was as reliable as ever and put in a tremendous effort to get the team back into the game. Alex Whitehead, Jamie Stevenson and William Doveston scored the Cubs tries.

Cubs Under-10s

Kings Cross

A combination of slick passing from Kings Cross and a Cubs defence that lacked the usual killer instinct, saw the visitors return to Halifax as victors. Top Tackler Louis Hannan led an improved defence in the second half keeping Cross to just two tries.

The improvement was also helped by Dominic Tucker (most improved Player) who almost matched Louis tackle for tackle. Man of the Match Jack Winterburn was on hand to score in both halves. New player Joe Buckley with Sam Ward and Josh Farkas on their debuts all put in an excellent performance in a hard game. Special thanks to Joe Buffey, Kieran Riley and Ben Leach who made up Kings Cross' numbers giving 100 per cent effort.

Newsome Panthers 0

Cubs Under-9s 28

This was a much tougher game than the score suggests, and it took a slick set piece to break the deadlock.

The Cubs had to work hard and a superb defensive team effort denied the Panthers any points.

Try scorers were Dixon, Seeley, Connell, Akrigg and man of the match Conway. Top tackler went to Moorby and outstanding effort to Stott.

Halifax Vandals

Cubs Under-8s

In a close fought game the Under-8s were edged out by a strong Vandals side and not even the effort of top tackler Jamie Millar was enough to turn the game the Cubs way. The Coach's award was presented to Ben Benfield for his strong performance and Most Improved Player was Callum Franklin.

Man of the Match was Joe Mash and the champagne moment went to Sabastian Aucott, who threw out a slick pass to George Heath om his debut and Heath left the defence standing to score.

Other scorers were Joe Meegan and Jamie Millar.
