Keighley Athletic 2, Stanbury Park Rangers 4 - Stanbury fought back to overturn a one-goal first leg deficit to progress to the next round of the cup after an exciting tie between two closely matched teams.

The home side were left to rue a ten minute period in the first half in which Stanbury swiftly took a 3-0 lead. Athletic were stronger in the second half and Paul Goodwin soon nodded home Jamie Smith's corner to reduce the arrears, Stanbury then added a fourth before Smith blasted home from 25 yards to make it 4-2.

One more Athletic goal would have forced extra time and when Goodwin waltzed through in the closing stages it looked to be on the cards, his shot however thumped against the Stanbury crossbar and Athletic were out.

Keighley Vic 2

Long Lee Druids 3

Keighley Victoria took advantage of an even first half with a crisp strike that went in off the post.

Druids cam out strongly in the second half with man of the match paul Wilkinson tormenting Vic. He supplied the cross for Mick Crawshaw to hit a 20-yard screamer which was followed by two goals from A Hudson.

Vic pulled one back from the penalty spot but could not earn a draw.

George (Cullingworth) 8

Silsden Town 4

Both teams were without their regular keepers, but the stand-ins were not responsible for the high number of goals scored in this League Cup second leg clash.

Silsden held a healthy 5-3 lead after the first leg, but George had slightly the better of the first half exchanges and opened the scoring only for Silsden to equalise. George scored a further two goals before the break.

There was little between the team in the second half with George finding it difficult to defend against Silsden long balls which were by-passing their midfield. With five minutes to go the score was 6-4 and the teams were level on aggregate. The game looked to be heading for extra time but George netted twice to book their place in the next round.

Gareth Marshall and Neil Roberts both scored hat-tricks for George with Phil Poole adding two in a game which was well officiated by referee Dave Dunwell. Silsden's goals came from Chris Fowler's stunning 30-yard free kick and a hat-trick from James Whitehead.

Keighley United 6

Albert 2

Keighley United dominated play but poor finishing cost them as Albert took a 2-0 lead before half time. United continued to dominate and pulled a goal back through a J Gunning penalty and they were soon back on level terms.

As Albert started to chase the game Keighley proved too strong and secured a 6-2 victory (8-3 on aggregate) with Joe Drake their man of the match. Scorers were Gunning (2), Gulzar (2), Bennett and Wheater.
