Cruiserweight challenger Bruce Scott was today warned: Mark Hobson is on a roll.

Hobson defends both his British and Commonwealth titles at Huddersfield Leisure Centre tonight. And he is in the mood to blow away former champion Scott.

Co-manager Chris Aston said: "Mark is well up for this. He wants to do a good job on Scott and finish him off.

"This fight has been a long time coming due to Scott's long lay-off through injury and we know what to expect. But we won't be taking Scott lightly.

"He looked ring-rusty against Enzo Maccarinelli but you can excuse him for that having been out for two years. It doesn't take too long to get back into it, sometimes just one round can get you going.

"He's had a couple of jobs since coming back but that's not much less than we've done. When you think that Hobson got Tony Moran out of there in a couple of rounds and then Lee Swaby in six, he hasn't had that much time in the ring either.

"But Hobson keeps getting better and he feels that this is his time."

Hobson anticipates his opponent will come charging in and is ready to defuse a few bombs.

He said: "I'm pretty sure if I stood toe-to-toe and slugged it out, I'd still probably win. But that would be playing into his hands and I'll have to be careful.

"He's going to try and swarm all over me and make the fight ugly but I don't want to get dragged into a battle of attrition. I'm going to play it smart and get through the first few rounds before taking over."

Hobson's Huddersfield stablemate Dale Robinson is also in action, although his opponent has been changed.

Robinson was due to face Johnny Armour in an eliminator for the British bantamweight title but the Kent man pulled out with flu.

Instead, he will be up against Spaniard Lahcerne Zemmouri, who has won 12 of his 17 fights. Zemmouri is a late-comer to the pro ranks and didn't make the switch until he was 30.

Their clash was set up for the IBO inter-continental belt over 12 rounds but has now been cut to ten.

Zemmouri, 35, is making his first trip abroad. He will get no favours from Robinson, who plans to use the occasion as a tune-up for a shot at the domestic bantam belt early next year.

Robinson is lined up to face Martin Power, renewing a rivalry from the amateur ranks when he ended the Londoner's 75-bout winning run. Purse bids for that tasty tussle must be done by January 12.
