With its helipad, concierge parking and in-house animator, The Lodge - Cottingley's exclusive new plastic surgery clinic - might seem more at home in an episode of "Footballers' Wives" rather than tucked away in the Aire Valley.

The luxurious clinic, which has just opened its doors, was set up by father and daughter team David Sharpe OBE, and Caroline Sharpe.

But they insist it won't just be a place for those who want to fit in with the flashy London celebrity set.

"We are confident that the clinic will not only attract the celebrity client but also everyday men and women who want to enhance their appearance or slow down the ageing process," said Mr Sharpe.

The respected plastic surgeon said the purpose-built clinic just off the Bingley relief road is the first of its kind in the UK.

"The Lodge is a unique concept in day case plastic and dental surgery," said Mr Sharpe.

"It is a state-of-the-art clinic with a team of independent accredited plastic and dental surgeons who have merged to create a centre of excellence."

Mr Sharpe, who has practised at neighbouring Yorkshire Clinic for a number of years, said the surgeons at the Lodge have national and international reputations.

"The surgeons have been hand picked to ensure we have the highest standards," he said.

"It also means we are at the forefront of technology with new advancements being researched all the time."

The Lodge will cater for all cosmetic procedures that can be carried out under local anaesthetic including cosmetic dentistry.

"The dental surgery and implant service is run by Mr Naresh Sharma, the tutor for implant technology at the Royal College of Surgeons of England," said Dr Orla Rhodes, an experienced cosmetic dentist at the Lodge.

"Together we operate a normal day-to-day dental surgery but on top of that we offer a wide range of services from teeth whitening to complex implant surgery."

Mr Sharpe said the venture would compliment existing services offered by the Yorkshire Clinic.

The London Mole Clinic has opened its first Northern branch at the Lodge.

Experts use computer dermoscopy to search out and identify real or potential skin cancers that can be referred to the Consultant Dermatologist, Dr Andrew Wright.

"The fact that this respected clinic has chosen the Lodge as home for its first northern practice speaks volumes," said Mr Sharpe.

Apart from surgery the Lodge offers a multitude of luxurious beauty treatments which are headed up by Caroline Sharpe, a qualified aesthetician, an expert in skin care.

"We aim to offer just about every treatment available," said Miss Sharpe.

"They include laser hair removal, spray tanning, botox and laser therapy."

All the treatments are carried out in beautifully-designed and ultra comfortable surroundings.

"We want our clients to feel a million dollars when they leave the Lodge so we have taken every measure to ensure this is a truly decadent experience," said Miss Sharpe.

To accentuate the theme of luxury at the Lodge all the walls are bedecked in Michelangelo-style backdrops and for those who prefer a truly showbiz entrance you can arrive by air and have your helicopter re-fuelled while you undergo treatments.

Every visitor to the Lodge undergoes a thorough consultation process.

"Whether you have come for a face peel or a face lift you receive an in-depth consultation to make sure you achieve the result you want," said Miss Sharpe. The Lodge has even employed an animator to produce comprehensive DVDs on plastic surgery procedures.

"A lot of people are nervous about undergoing surgery and having clear explanations and seeing images of what is involved and end results helps them to make a decision about whether or not to go ahead," said Mr Sharpe.

The Lodge will be running a series of open evenings in March to promote the range of services available.
