With all the hot air that's been flying around between Arsene Wenger and Alex Ferguson the Arsenal boss should be pleased to hear that he'll be able to keep cool when his team moves to its new stadium.

Rawdon-based air conditioning giant Airedale International has a £500,000 contract to provide packaged chillers for the Premier League champions' new Emirates Stadium in Islington, North London. Airedale is supplying nine Ultima air-cooled "super quiet" screw chillers with a total cooling capacity of 5,250kw.

The deal has been secured on the back of the company's status as the largest privately-owned manufacturer of air conditioning and chiller products in the UK.

The Arsenal chillers will cool the extensive hospitality accommodation including executive boxes, lounges, bars, restaurants and "Club Level" seating - a tier of premium seating encircling the hi-tech stadium. The 60,000-seater Emirates Stadium is scheduled to host its first game at the start of the 2006/07 season when the club moves from its traditional Highbury home.

The company said its successful bid reflected its expertise in the custom design, manufacture and factory testing of high capacity chillers, with quality and service support high on its agenda.

Airedale sales director Paul Oliver said: "We are delighted to have been successful in acquiring this order. It reinforces Airedale's position as a key player in the premier league for packaged chillers."

As well as its 25,000 sq ft headquarters and production plant at Rawdon, Airedale has manufacturing plants in the United States and South Africa and designs, manufactures and distributes products to more than 70 countries.

The company, which was established in 1974, now employs 400 staff around the world and distributes its products across 50 countries. It has global sales of more than £40 million.
