Campion's run of seven Premier Division games unbeaten was brought to an end by local rivals Tyersal.

Campion, who had former Bantams and Newcastle United defender Des Hamilton making his County Amateur League debut, struggled to find the form that had lifted them into the top four in the division.

The longer the game progressed the more likely that a single goal from either side would win the game.

Hamilton, who had not played competitive football for almost 18 months, marshalled the visitors' defence, until midway through the second half when he was sent off for dissent.

Tyersal built on their player advantage and were rewarded when Andy Carlton's shot was diverted into his own net by a Campion defender to give the home side a narrow 1-0 victory.

Campion's defeat allowed Pontefract side Hemsworth Miners Welfare to move into third place after a late James Page goal gave them a 1-0 victory at Ardsley Celtic.

At the foot of the division, Wakefield-based Hall Green United gave themselves a chance of beating the drop with a 4-2 win over Ovenden West Riding.

Dudley Hill Rangers' hopes of a Premiership place next season have almost gone, after they lost their third successive Division One game, this time 4-1 at Littletown.

Leaders Eastmoor won 3-2 but were made to work hard for their three points at bottom-placed Hunsworth. Farnley, in second place, also had a 3-2 victory at home to Lower Hopton.

Westwood saved a point with a 3-3 draw in their home game with Morley Town thanks to a late penalty converted by John Hart. Earlier Dave Wadium, with another penalty, and Carl Fawcett had scored for Westwood, Wayne Walsh (2) and Karl Petch having netted for Morley.

The clash between Salts and Altofts finished goalless.

South Bradford were second best in their home encounter with Division Two leaders Kirkburton.

James Ellison scored midway through the second half to give the Huddersfield side a 1-0 win, and stretch their lead at the top of the division to nine points.

Dudley Hill Athletic had Justin Missin, Paul Mear, and Paul Ellis on target as they beat Bowling 3-1.

Crag Road United drew 1-1 with Westbrook YMCA, a Shaun Horan double gave Roberttown a 2-1 home win over Dynamoes and Salt Old Boys lost 2-0 at home to Keighley Lifts.
