Colin Todd blasted his City players for not bossing the game after another demoralising defeat at Blackpool.

Keigan Parker's stoppage-time winner condemned Todd's side to their first away loss since December 7.

And influential winger Nicky Summerbee is facing a lay-off after quitting the action at half-time with a groin injury.

It was a night to forget for the Bantams, whose hopes of making the play-offs continue to fade.

Andy Cooke had equalised with his second goal for the club but the lowly Seasiders deserved their victory.

Todd said: "It's a bitter blow for us. I would have been disappointed with a draw.

"We knew this would be a difficult place to come but we didn't control the ball for long enough periods - it kept coming back at us too often.

"Every time we attacked, we couldn't keep the ball in their half long enough.

"I feel sorry for my defenders because the ball kept coming back all the time, even from our set plays. That's why I didn't send the centre backs up for corners because they only had to chase back to defend and that's not right.

"There are some in the team who only want to play when we have the ball but the game's more than that.

"Blackpool had Martin Bullock who was battling away, going at people and not frightened to have an appetite for the game. That's what I want to see from my team."

City's third defeat in four games dropped them another place to 11th. They are now five points off sixth place, having played more games than all four teams in the play-off positions.

Todd had the squad back in for a brief training session today, aiming to restore morale for Saturday's trip to Walsall, where they will be missing suspended duo David Wetherall and Lewis Emanuel.

He added: "If you keep losing matches you soon drop down the table. We can't look at anybody else to help us, we've got to do it ourselves. As a manager, you have to try to lift the players, but now we've got the suspensions as well as the injury to Summerbee. We'll have to wait and see who is available for Saturday.

"But there will be no fresh faces coming into the club at this moment."
