Nicky Summerbee should be fit for the West Yorkshire derby against Huddersfield.

But Colin Todd admits City are "down to the bare bones" for Saturday's trip to Walsall.

Summerbee, who has been in outstanding form, limped off at half-time in the defeat at Blackpool with a groin injury.

He is definitely out for the weekend but the club are hopeful it is nothing more serious.

Todd said: "I would expect him to be ready for the Huddersfield game the following week. But it's a blow to lose Nicky with the form he has been in.

"With David Wetherall and Lewis Emanuel out, we are down to the bare bones. But whatever side goes out there on Saturday should be good enough to win a game of football.

"It's going to be more difficult when you are missing some of your better players but the ones that come in have to be prepared to battle."

Todd expects to see his side close down Walsall far better than they did against Blackpool. And he has warned Steve Schumacher not to get too gung-ho with his attacking runs from midfield.

"Over the past away games we've had a good definition but on Tuesday we were too open.

"Schumacher has had a tremendous season but it's his first year and perhaps you can't expect him to be doing it all the time. He does some good forward runs but maybe does it too often."
