The Rugby Football League have refused to accept the London Broncos' registration of Bulls target Vinnie Anderson, opening the door for the Kiwi international to come to Odsal after all.

Anderson had agreed terms on a three-year deal with London but the RFL refused to sanction the deal due to the "financial restructuring" taking place at the club.

Usually a centre, Anderson operated as a makeshift stand-off for the Kiwis throughout the Gillette Tri-Nations series, scoring a try in their opening-round draw against Australia.

Anderson's Tongan heritage means he would qualify as a Kolpak player and as such would not occupy an overseas quota spot at a British club. The 26-year-old has attracted the interest of several Super League clubs, including the Bulls, since being cut from the New Zealand Warriors' NRL squad with a year still remaining on his

contract.

Bulls chairman Chris Caisley, however, would not comment directly on whether the club had renewed their interest in Anderson.

"At the end of the day we'd love to strengthen our squad with another couple of players but sometimes you can only go with what you've got," said Caisley.

"The fact is the players that we have got are good enough to do very well in this competition if we play to our potential. Yet again we have had some bad luck, but what is the point in dwelling on that?" And Caisley firmly rejected the notion that poor start to the season could be attributed to the off-season upheaval caused by the club's failure to land key target Gareth Ellis and the in-house suspension of Ryan Hudson pending a doping investigation.

"I wish people wouldn't keep asking me about what happened in the off-season," he said.

"I am sick and tired of it. Forget about that, it is gone. Various players have lost a bit of form early in the season. Everybody goes through a blip during the course of the year and maybe we are having ours now. It has been unexpected but I am sure that we have the personnel to put it right."

Wigan have not lost at the JJB for 19 months but Caisley believes that run could be about to end.

"I am absolutely positive we can go to Wigan and get a result. They are due to lose there some time."

l The Bulls have made their Super League derby against champions Leeds Rhinos on Thursday, March 24, all ticket. The Grand Final re-match is expected to test the 26,019 capacity of Odsal Stadium.
