She never set out to be a supermodel, but Fiona Harrower ended up following Naomi Campbell down the catwalk when she entered a competition on the spur of the moment.

Fiona, 21, of Otley Road, Guiseley, had never even considered going into modelling until her momentous decision to send a picture of herself after seeing a competition advertised in a magazine.

She thought she had missed the deadline -- but to the gall of would-be models everywhere she was picked from thousands of others to secure a contract with leading agency Premier Model Management.

Now life is set to become very different for the former Prince Henry's pupil who had just started a job in promotions after a spell working in Korks bar in Otley.

Amazingly, it took just three weeks for Fiona to be propelled from her ordinary life in Yorkshire to the glamourous world of the supermodels in London.

And she still can't believe the way her world has been turned topsy-turvy by a simple photo.

Fiona decided to send her picture off after reading about the search for tomorrow's supermodels which had been launched by 02, Nokia and Premier Model Management.

She sent a picture of herself via mobile and was amazed to be one of six young women invited to London on February 13 to take part in a selection day.

Along with six young men they were trained in various modelling skills including catwalking, make-up and hairstyling.

After a show in front of an expert panel of judges, she was picked along with 19-year-old Glenn Shepherd to be given a year's contract with Premier Model Management -- beating off competition from 11,000 hopefuls.

And in a baptism of fire, she took to the catwalk at the Gharani Strok show during London Fashion Week, alongside Naomi Campbell, and other top models including Olivia Inge and Jamie Gunns.

Fiona, who lives with her boyfriend Warren, said: "I can't believe it really. Modelling isn't really anything I had thought about before. I just saw an advert in a magazine and thought why not give it a go.

"It's not something I've thought about as a career, so it's all a bit of a shock."

"I entered about three weeks ago, and I thought I had entered after the closing date, to be honest. It was a shock when they rang me.

"When they called out my name and said I had won, I actually did think I was going to pass out."

The judges decision to chose Fiona catapulted her into the world of top class fashion, where she followed Naomi Campbell down the catwalk.

"It was quite strange," she said. "Although we didn't really get to see her as we had all been in make-up.

"It was very exciting. Not knowing much about modelling myself, I think some of the others were famous but I don't really know."

Fiona, who was watched by her proud boyfriend and mum, said: "I just don't believe it. It has not sunk in yet -- it is like a dream."
