Glen Tilbrook -- The New Variety Club

This was an awesome gig by the former Squeeze frontman.

He took to the stage with his guitar and began to belt out new songs, Squeeze classics and the occasional cover.

Of course it was the songs lifted from the Squeeze back catalogue that went down best with the audience.

But solo work like Take Me I'm Yours, Goodbye Girl, Slap And Tickle and Another Nail For My Heart really drew the audience's appreciation.

Tilbrook joked that he'd played some places during his career but that the Russell Street venue was by far the hardest to find.

His guitar playing and vocal performance were nothing short of incredible.

Having played an exceptionally impressive set Glen exited the stage only to return shortly afterwards, guitar in hand, march up to the bar, order a Tachilla and instruct his captivated following that he was going to teach them the backing vocals to Tempted so that we could all join in while he sang the chorus.
