Salt Old Boys 0, Keighley Lifts 2 - LIFTS are fighting all the way in their bid to lift themselves out of Division Two.

After a hit-and-miss start to the season they have been stringing some good results together and are now in fourth place in the table, but look to have left things just too late to gain promotion this season.

Kirkburton are clear leaders at the top of the table on 44 points, with South Bradford in second place on 35. Barclarys have 28 points and Lifts have picked up 23 points from their seven wins and two draws.

Last weekend they played out a goalless first half at Salts before goals from Mick Crawshaw and Mark Webster gave them the victory they were looking for.

Steeton Reserves faced Hall Green knowing that a victory would move them above their opponents in the table. Despite playing into a heavy wind in the first half it was Steeton who had a couple of early chances through Chris Turner and Tom Woodward. They suffered an early blow when Gareth Atkinson limped off injured after only 20 minutes.

With the defence re-organising Steeton were thankful to a couple of great saves from veteran keeper Kevin Knappy to see them remain level at the break.

With the wind behind them Steeton applied the pressure and started to create more chances. A great run and cross from Aaron Hollingdrake found Roy Mason who fired narrowly wide. Chris Galders then tested the home keeper with a header from Andy Lamb's cross.

With a 0-0 draw looking likely Steeton launched one last attack and Chris Fothergill found Craig Stephens unmarked in the box and he steadied himself to fire the ball into the roof of the net and give Steeton the win.

Keighley Shamrocks Reserves also pulled off a victory, beating Westbrook YMCA 2-0. There were no goals in the first half, but James Christian hit the net twice after the break.
